In those days it was fashionable to leave a ‘jet-like’ feeling in the interior in all kinds of ways. When you drive around in this car you feel like a sixties god. Looks like Elvis, but sounds and closes like a Swiss safe. That’s why he restored the car nut and bolt, and he hasn’t driven the car much since. The car comes from a collector who wanted to take care of all his babies as best he could, so that no one is coming short. The bodywork of this Thunderbird and the colour come in like a thunderbird when the sky is clear, and the interior is like new. In the year that the Thunderbird came out, sales increased by more than 50%! Ford came up with the idea to spell ‘Thunderbird’ in full over the bonnet, and that was successful. Overly exuberant lines of the fifties, were replaced by tighter long lines of the sixties. It was in 1965, when the Thunderbirds with blue suits first appeared on TV, that Ford was already there with the fourth generation Thunderbird (this time also with blue suit) the Flair Bird.

On the day this Ford was born, a lot happened on the other side of the ocean: Martin Luther King told about his dreams, musical legends came up and American car companies had ‘the horsepower race’.
